P C Chandra celebrated “Poila Porob” for upcoming Poila Baishakh with Arko
Ambar Bhattacharya, abptakmaa, Kolkata, 11th Apr 2021 : Today P C Chandra Garden and Viewpoint jointly organized a musical evening titled “Poila Porob” to celebrate the upcoming Poila Baishakh at The Tulip Hall of P C Chandra Garden.
As the world continues its fight with the COVID19 Pandemic P C Chandra Garden could organize this cultural promotion event at its premises after a long gap of more than one year. The Programme started with a minute’s scilence in memory of those people who have lost their lives due to the Pandemic, especially the frontline people like Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Staff, Police etc.
Arko Mukherjee is an Indian Classical Singer and an Urban Folk Musician from Kolkata. He sings folk songs in various languages to blues, souls and several tribal music forms from different parts of the world. He researches on the root of folk and contemporary music by travelling around the globe. Arko Mukherjee has sung in different films and was awarded a “Gandharva Samman” by the Gandharva Community of Batulichor of Nepal. In this particular presentation, his songs will be accompanied by dance and recitation featuring Jayraj and Srabonti. The guest present today is actress Chaiti Ghoshal.
