BCC&I in association with Narula Institute of Technology organizes an industry conclave “ICON 21”
Ambar Bhattacharya, abptakmaa, Kolkata, 28th Feb 2021 : The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCC&I) in association with Narula Institute of Technology, one of seven colleges under the JIS Group organized one of the biggest industry-academia conclaves of Eastern India, “ICON 21” for increasing employability opportunity for the future technocrats in COVID situation. This two day online conclave created immense opportunities for the students through authentic networking on 26th & 27th February 2021.
This assembly started with a welcoming note by the college principal Prof. (Dr,) Maitreyi Ray Kanjial followed by sessions, discussions, presentations and project displays of eminent industry experts and academicians. The prime focus of the conclave was to highlight the transition from Industry 4.0 to 5.0 and how this transition is going to impact the career opportunities of future technocrats. This discussion forum was the largest networking platform for industry experts and academicians. In this discussion forum renowned industrialist, academician, policymaker and past president BCC&I Aloke Mookherjee including other eminent personalities focused on the career prospects in the new normal situation. Key speaker Mr. Ayan Ghosh Dastidar, Director – Leader in Digital Process Transformation, Capgemini Financial Services spoke about artificial intelligence and he urged the students to learn how to leverage artificial intelligence in practical situation, how statistical models are used and he mentioned about many free courses for becoming industry ready. In addition to this Dr. Rima Ghose Chowdhury EVP & CHRO Datamatics Global Services Ltd. explained all industry revolutions including Industry 5.0. She highlighted three areas – physical, cognitive, cultural and how these factors impact career of an individual.
Speaking on this occasion, Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group added that, ”Industry 5.0 is a new concept in India although it is quite prevalent across the world. Through this conclave our motive was to make the students aware of this new trend which was never done before in India. In addition to this our aim of arranging this virtual conclave was to make students future ready and employable in new normal. “
