Netaji Subhash Football Coaching Camp flags off the pre independence day celebration with the annual football tournament in Kolkata
Sports Editor, Takmaa News, Kolkata, 18th Aug 2023 : As the nation is celebrating the gala end of 75 years of independence this year, Netaji Subhash Football Coaching camp a philanthropic organisation , has ushered in the independence day with its annual football tournament . The day also marks the second anniversary of the club.
On this day , The club has announced special support for 10 talented less privileged kids of the football coaching centre including food , transport, sports accessories like boot, jersey and regular health check up .
At a formal function, Former Indian women footballer Smt. Alpona Shil, Smt Kuntala Ghosh dastidar honourable councillor Shri. Rupak Ganguly Ward no. 121 inaugurated the celebration and the annual football tournament. At the prize distribution ceremony honorable M.P. Rajyasabha Shri. Subhasish Chakraborty, Smt. Keya Sinha, Principal of National Gems Higher Secondary School , Dipendu Biswas (Footballer) Arindam Bhattacharya (footballer), Sanjay Sen (footballer) Abhisek Das (footballer) and Nemai Dutta (footballer) were present as our honourable guests.
Over 110 junior football enthusiasts from across the city have played in the tournament. The Championship also supported participation of 20 plus underprivileged promising talents under the state category providing an equal platform for the talents to thrive.
Netaji Subhash Football Coaching Club (NSFCC) started this initiative following the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda who said, “You will be nearer to heaven playing football than studying the Bhagavad-Gita.”. The vision was to nurturing talents and creating future citizens with team spirit and true sportsmanship. The club also provides free coaching to nearly 20 underprivileged students. At the coaching centre children aged between 6 to 15 years get football coaching under the supervision of well-trained coaches.
“ We have started the football coaching centre in the year 2021 just after the devastating Covid 19. Every trainee is provided with a healthy diet supper after their training session regularly. Most importantly the trainees also undergo a periodic health check-up. Till date this coaching centre has participated as well as arranged 14 interclub tournaments for developing the skills of their trainees through such experience and exposure”, said Biplab Konar , Games Secretary of Netaji Subhash Football Coaching Camp.
This year United Nations celebrated International Day of Sports for Development and Peace 2023, which this year has the global theme “Scoring for People and the Planet”. UN DESA also organized an event on the role of sport in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in their social, economic, and environmental dimensions.
The event adheres to the sustainable development goals mission of the United Nations. United Nations has also endorsed this initiative with UN’s sustainable Goal mission as the championship adheres to all three key goals of the United Nations namely: Goal 5 : Gender equality, Goal 15 : Life on Land and Goal 17 : Partnership.
