Ambar Bhattacharya, Takmaa News, Kolkata, 30th September 2024 : Safety gadgets by XBOOM Utilities, a pioneering organization dedicated to promoting safety and security, has launched a groundbreaking initiative, “Unleash the Shakti Within: Empowering Women with Self-Defense and Sexual Assault Prevention Strategies for a Safer Tomorrow,” a two-day campaign aimed at empowering girl students and women with self-defense skills and strategies to prevent sexual assault and make them prepare towards a safer tomorrow.

Day-1: Self-Defense Training Program
The first day of the campaign witnessed a self-defense training program for girl students and women from reputed schools to underprivileged girls and women. The hands-on training session, conducted by experienced trainers, equipped participants with effective self-defense techniques, confidence, and skills to defend themselves against sexual assault. The training session was held at Press Club, Kolkata, and was attended by over 100 participants.

Day-2: Panel Discussion
The second day of the campaign witnessed a panel discussion on “Unleashing the Shakti Within: Empowering Women with Self-Defense and Sexual Assault Prevention Strategies for a Safer Tomorrow.” The discussion featured a panel of experts in self-defense, psychology, media, and social activism, who shared their insights and experiences on how to unleash our inner Shakti to create a safer tomorrow. The panelists included Mr. Vishal Saurav, Founder & CEO of Safetygadgets by XBOOM, Prof. (Dr.) Madhupa Bakshi, Dean of Media Science, Heritage Academy, Mr. Nobin D Samuel, Acting CEO, Antara Psychiatric Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, Ms. Monalisa Roy, Chairman of Women Committee, West Bengal Sports Kickboxing Association.

The panel discussion aims to break the silence surrounding self-defense and sexual assault prevention, highlighting the importance of empowering individuals, especially women and girls, to take control of their safety and well-being. The discussion will delve into the role of technology in self-defense, the impact of sexual assault on mental health, community engagement and awareness, and school safety and self-defense.
