An Innovative Design Contest Among Art & Design Institutes of West Bengal by Berger Paints
Ambar Bhattacharya, Takmaa, Kolkata, 2nd June 2021 : Berger Paints India Ltd., recognized as one of the global paint majors, organized 1st Edition of “Memorable Wall Design Contest” in West Bengal.
The unique design contest was held among students from various Art & Design Institutes across West Bengal. The team of 4 people from Indian College of Arts & Draftsmanship have been declared as the winners of the 1st edition of Memorable Wall Design Contest. The team comprises of Satabdi Barman, Debayan Saha, Sudip Ghosh and Arindam Patra. The team from Government College of Art & Craft has been adjudged as the runners-up.
Following the basic ethos of the company – Paint Your Imagination, Berger Paints have been promoting feature walls and designs, which were a great success. During the ongoing pandemic, people have been investing considerable time and energy in Home Décor & DIY activities to a large extent. In order to channelize their creative talent, Berger Paints came up with the concept of developing and promoting new ideas & designs as an annual activity, resulting in the conception of the “Memorable Walls” Design Contest.
Over 300 students from more than 40 Art & Design Institutes participated in the contest. The designs submitted by the participants were judged by 6-member panelist comprising renowned person from the field of Academics, Architecture, Interior Design and Wall Art. The winners will be awarded with cash prizes. They will also get a chance to work as interns in a reputed Interior Design Firm. All the designs that are qualified for round 2 have been showcased in the virtual gallery of Berger Paints.
Berger Paints have always maintained a strong connect with the artist community. Berger Paints have been a first mover in establishing a number of trend setting innovations and always brought forth and nurtured innovative and creative ideas. This time, Berger Paints have promoted the concepts of DIY and Home Decor and have provided an opportunity to budding talents to showcase their imagination. These will eventually be offered to people across India to decorate the walls of their homes.
