UEM Kolkata Bagged 2nd Position In International Science Festival
News Editor, Takmaa, Kolkata, 22nd Dec 2021 : University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata has bagged 2nd position in National Defense Technologies domain in India International Science Festival 2021 (IISF2021) held on 11-13th December 2021 at Panaji Goa. UEM Kolkata is the only institution from West Bengal rather eastern part of India which has achieved this wonderful success through the project called “THE DATA GUARD”. Team Data Guard was invited to Goa for competing with the various projects received from different corners of India.
This project is mainly developed for the protection of data from getting breached. If someone tries to get unauthorised access to our system without proper permission, in that case, some payload or trojans are made hidden so that, the payload gets transferred to the attackers’ system. As soon as the attacker decrypts the data packets received from our system, the payload too gets executed and the attackers’ system will be under grip of control.
Mr. Sandeep singh, Ms Sneha Bhargav, Mr Gourav Pathak, Ms Khushi Dugar and Arif Mahmood are the undergraduate students of UEM Kolkata who have worked for several months untiringly under the mentorship of Prof. Sumit Anand and Prof. Dr. Anirban Das of the Innovation Council of UEM Kolkata.
Team Data Guard has received the recognition from Dr. Shekhar C. Mande, Director General of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) -cum-Secretary DSIR.
IISF is considered to be the biggest platform in the country with the theme of ‘Celebrating Creativity in Science, Technology and Innovation for Prosperous India’. As part of this theme, all IISF 2021 programmes will reflect the spirit and idea of Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav of the Govt of India, which aims to mark 75 glorious years of Indian independence in 2022. IISF 2021 is organised jointly by the MoES, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati.
