Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Howrah fulfills dream of a father
News Correspondent, abptakmaa, Kolkata, 12th Feb 2020 : Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Howrah has fulfilled a father’s wish to witness his daughter’s special day by organizing the wedding for a patient’s daughter at the hospital premises today. Sandip Sarkar residence of Baranagar is hospitalized under the medical oncology department of Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Howrah (Dr. Vivek Agarwala/Dr. Chandrakanth MV/Dr. Pradip Kumar Mondal).
Sandip Sarkar was suffering from tongue Cancer since 2011 for which he was operated. He then had disease recurrence which further spread to lungs in 2017 diagnosed as stage IV cancer. The average survival of stage IV head neck cancer is around 1 year. However, with targeted therapy and immunotherapy, he has survived 2.5 years.
The wedding was scheduled for 16th February this year, however, observing his condition the hospital administration along with with the patient’s family has arranged legal marriage proceedings within the hospital so that the patient can be a part of the auspicious the ceremony of his daughter, Deotima Sarkar.
