LOBB Logistics India’s largest digital brokerage platform starts its Kolkata operations
News Editor, Takmaa News, Kolkata, 10th Oct 2022 : With the festive season gaining momentum after two years of silent celebrations indoors, Lobb has flagged its Kolkata office. Kolkata is the prime business, commercial and financial hub of eastern India and the main logistics hub for the North East Indian states. Kolkata is also the third largest economy in India after Mumbai and Delhi. Kolkata is home to many industrial units operated by large public- and private-sector corporations; major sectors include steel, heavy engineering, mining, minerals, cement, pharmaceuticals, food processing, agriculture, electronics, textiles, and jute.
Lobb’s customers have a huge presence in the Kolkata region and many of our truckers demand Lobb presence in key locations in the east to serve them better without halting. It is part of our strategic plan to scale up the business to cover a huge freight corridor for surface transportation and to link with the south, North and western regions of our network. We are confident that Lobb will play a significant role to source the trucks from Kolkata.
Speaking on this development Venu Kondur CEO Lobb says, “In our journey of seven years we have consistently targeted to have a spread which is paramount in the business and I am delighted that we have only valued our customer needs and met their expectations which is a win-win model”
Lobb enables Transporters & Truckers to “Connect, Discover & Transact Freight” in a frictionless manner by leveraging the best of technology and building innovative solutions ground-up, that are relevant at a global scale.
The Indian logistics industry has over 10 million long-haul trucks, most of them owned by small truck owners struggling to find the right loads on time. We aim to empower them through our proprietary Truck Discovery Model, by creating a unique network of fleet, routes, and nodes aligned to demand supply and move to a machine-based matching engine.
Trucks in India run only 13-15 days in a month vs an optimal 23-25 days. This is largely due to opaque demand and supply availability. Demand and supply traditionally are done through calls in an inefficient manner. Lobb through its digital freight brokerage app is able to help logistics companies hire trucks on demand.
Lobb’s Current Scale of Business:
Trucks: 25,000 +; KMs Covered: 3 Crore KMs +; Tonnage Covered : 1 Million Tonnage +; Locations: 20+ Cities Like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad etc; Logistics Partners: 1000+; Fleet Owners: 5000+
