CAB flag half mast as a mark of Respect to Lata Mangeshkar

Ambarnath Bhattacharya, Takmaa, Kolkata. 6th Feb 2020 :The Cricket Association of Bengal kept it’s flag half mast in memory of Melody Queen and Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar who left for heavenly abode today.

“We can never forget how she came forward and supported the cause of the Cricketers and stood by the BCCI when there weren’t much resources available to the Board.

We paid our respects to the Nightingle of India by keeping our flag half mast. She has left a vaccum that will not be filled,” said CAB President Avishek Dalmiya.

“The most memorable was of course when Lata ji did a pro-bono concert after Kapil’s Devils won the 1983 world cup. It was in those days when BCCI was cash strapped and the concert helped raise enough finances to felicitate the cricketers,” Avishek remembered.
