UCMAS, the recognized global leader in Abacus-based visual math education, today organized the 18th National UCMAS Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition in the city. The largest competition of its kind in India saw a massive participation of over 2000 whip-smart kids in the 4-13 years age group from across West Bengal; and over 4500+ kids took the part in the competition from across India.
Students were taken through calculation tests, brain power drills and proficiency assessments as they attempted a whopping 200 math problems in just 8 minutes
Speaking about the UCMAS program, Dr. Snehal Karia, President & CEO – UCMAS India, said, “Competitions are an integral part of UCMAS culture. They are a celebration of talent and competitive spirit of our students. But the 18th National UCMAS Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition is truly special for two reasons – one, the surge in number of participants with at least 2 lakh students registered at any point in time and two, celebrating the the participation of childs involvement in creative brain development techniques.
Established in 1993 in Malaysia, today UCMAS has a network of 6000+ centres across 80+ countries and has trained over 2.5 million children around the world in the past 25 years. Out of the 6000 centres, 2000 centres are in India, making it the largest UCMAS network in the world. Known for its holistic development approach that fosters key cognitive skills in children, the child development program boosts brainpower in youngsters using three learning styles – Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetics/ Tactile.
Apart from strengthening math skills, the UCMAS approach promotes whole brain development and establishes foundational building blocks like memory, concentration, creativity and problem solving – core skills that inspire greater confidence and success in all subject areas. The program majorly assists Human Anatomy Development as this technique improves functionality of 5 + 5 organs i.e. Spleen, Liver, Heart, Lungs, and Kidney which in turn affect functionality of Stomach, Gall Bladder, Small Intestine, Big Intestine, and Bladder respectively.
The success of UCMAS program students, who have topped IIT entrance exams, competitive exams, and school boards, is testimony to the success of the program. UCMAS training also fosters a love for numbers and removes math-phobia that enables success in academics and entrance exams. Moreover, it ensures that the child is prepared to meet life’s challenges and achieve greatness. Publicity : Launcherz.
