City to host Eastern India’s first ever Conclave on Wellness & Longevity ‘SOHAM 2020’ on 7 & 8 March
News Correspondent, abptakmaa, Kolkata, 6th Mar 2020 : Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth, is organising ‘SOHAM 2020 – A Conclave on Wellness & Longevity’ with technical collaboration with West Bengal Council of Yoga and Naturopathy and Paschim Banga Ayurved Parisad on 7th & 8th March at Biswa Bangla Convention Center, Newtown, Rajarhat. Dr. Tusher Sil, President, West Bengal Council of Yoga and Naturopathy; Dr. Pradyot Bikash Kar Mahapatra, Vice President, Paschim Banga Ayurved Parisad; Dr. Prof. Konstaintin Pavlidis, Founder, Orassy Ultimate Health, London, UK; Mr. Ajeet Saxena – Former Civil Servant, Govt. of India, Divinity Foundation, Kolkata; Prof. Dr. Shubhamoy Ghosh – Convener, SOHAM 2020 and Swami Mrigananda, President, Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth addressed the press at announcement press conference of ‘SOHAM 2020’- International symposium on Yoga, Ayurveda & other streams of AYUSH.
This Conclave attempts to bring together the stalwarts in the streams of AYUSH and specially in YOGA who have not just researched the subject, but have actually practiced these concepts and have had ‘hands on’ experience by living this wisdom in their own lives.

The speakers will deliver speeches on the topics like Research update of Yoga & Naturopathy in S-VYASA, Bio-mechanics of different Asanas in Yoga, Yoga for Mental health, Application of Yoga in daily life, Research based presentation, Yoga- Mechanistic model in the effect of Cardio vascular diseases, Application of Yoga in daily life/ Yoga Nidra. Doctors of modern medicine will also share their views.
The conclave would also showcase the effect on Dhrupadee Sangeet and Nritya (Classical Music & Dance) on health and wellbeing thro ugh live performances by renowned practitioners.
Smt. Mamata Bandyopadhyay, Chief Minister, West Bengal has extended her support for this conclave. Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Minister, Govt. of West Bengal & Dr. Shashi Panja, Minister, Govt. of West Bengal will be present at ‘Soham 2020.

As a continuous process of spreading Thakur Sree Satyananda’s ideals, Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth was founded by Sannyasini Sree Archana Puri Maa in the year 1992. It was founded as a Charitable Trust on the vision of Sree Thakur Satyananda, in the lineage of Sree Thakur Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada, Swami Vivekananda and Swami Abhedananda in West Bengal, India.
Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth has been sincerely contributing to the society’s need for education, healthcare, women empowerment and wellness through various entities. Sree Satyananda Vidyaniketan School has been operational from April 2002 for classes Preparatory to X for about 500 children on a charitable basis by dedicated teachers. A Mother & Child welfare home has been started at the ashram in association with IOC for the welfare of rural women of the neighbouring villages. To spread the benefits of Yoga, a Yoga Centre with AYUSH facilities called “Maa Archana Yoga Bharati” has been set up at the Mahapeeth premises. Under Sree Archana Maa’s able guidance, a comprehensive and integrated Gurukul education complex cum a unique pilgrimage site has been set up at the ashram complex.
