Smile for All, a national NGO opens its first “SFA Smart Learning Centre” in Laketown, Kolkata

News Editor, Takmaa, Kolkata, 22nd Oct 2021 : Smile for All Society, India’s leading and not-for-profit organization, has started its first ‘SFA Smart Learning Centre’ in Laketown, Kolkata. Smile for All was founded with the vision of providing school education to children who are deprived of education, living in low-level, and untouched settlements across the country. Smile for All is a welfare organization dedicated to ensuring every child’s right to quality education.

Smile for All will initially educate 15 children in the ‘SFA Smart Learning Centre’ between the ages of 10 to 14 living in the neighborhood slums of Laketown. Children from class 5th to 8th will be eligible to study in SFA’s SLC (Smart Learning Centre). In the future, SFA aims to increase the number of children in SLC. The center has been developed utilizing the ‘STEM Learning Methodology’ education system, in which children will be educated in an advanced education system of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Smile for All has started this Smart Learning Centre with its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund of Rs. 2.5 Lakh provided by Bentley Systems, Kolkata under Bentley Corporate Initiatives (STEM).

Mr. Bunesh Sharma, Co-founder & CEO, Smile for All said, “On behalf of the entire team of Smile for All, I would like to thank Bentley Systems for helping us realize our dreams of educating these children. Education plays an important role in the progress of the country. If every child of our country is educated only then will our country be considered as an advanced nation. With this goal, today more than 4000 volunteers are associated with our organization all over the country. After the success of this Smart Learning Centre, the organization aims to open Smile for All School, which is planned initially for Jaipur and in future we are aiming to open its branches all over the country.”

On this occasion, on behalf of Corporate Initiatives Liaison, Bentley Systems, Kolkata, while appreciating the work of Smile for All and said, “Bentley is helping engineers and architects, constructors, and owner-operators around the world in elevating global infrastructure. On the other side, Bentley is silently helping millions of students every year through various corporate initiatives. This year also along with the dozens of STEM initiatives Bentley sponsored India’s one of the promising NGO Smile For All Society to support their noble causes as educating the rural underprivileged students, advancing digital education etc.

The State Head of Smile for All in West Bengal is Uday Gupta who is leading the team of Smile Volunteers across the state and he is the major contributor to the launch of ‘SFA Smart Learning Centre’. Presently 60 Smile Volunteers in Kolkata are providing education to 30 children of the AaritolaGhate slum area near Bada Bazar. Apart from this 150 Smile Volunteers educate about 225 children with the organization in 11 cities (Kolkata, Burdwan, Alipurduar, Darjeeling, Siliguri, Nadia, Birbhum, PaschimMedinipur, PurbaMedinipur, Asansol and Durgapur) across the state.

So far, about 1000 children have been enrolled in school through SFA across the country. The organization is located in 250 cities (Jaipur, Kota, Chandigarh, Hisar, Patna, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Buxar, Bhojpur, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Bhopal etc.) and working through Smile Volunteers in 25 states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Punjab, Maharashtra etc. Publicity : Eastman Communications.
