IFA and title sponsors Sister Nivedita University find common ground to take Bengal football a step ahead

Ambar Bhattacharya, Takmaa, Kolkata, 17th Aug 2021 : New life is being breathed into Bengal football, with Sister Nivedita University set to partner the IFA (WB) as title sponsors to together lend season 2021 a wholehearted push.
The leading university shall sponsor tournaments like the Calcutta Football League, the IFA Shield, University League, School League, and Kanyashree Cup.

To this effect, an agreement between the two sides was formalized at a meeting today at the Conference Hall of the Netaji Indoor Stadium. Among those present at the meeting were: Mr. Debashish Kumar, MLA and Member, Board of Administrator, KMC, Mr. Ajit Banerjee, President, IFA, Mr. Subrata Dutta, Chairman, IFA, Mr. Joydeep Mukherjee, Hony. Secretary, IFA, Mr. Satyam Roychowdhury, Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University, Prof.
Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyayand, Vice-Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University, Dr. Sanku Bose, Group CEO, Techo India Group – Satyam Roychowdhury Initiative, and other top officials from both sides.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kumar, said, “The association between the IFA and Sister Nivedita University came at the right time. Due to this partnership, I can only see better days for Bengal football.” “This is a momentous occasion for football in West Bengal. The support of Sister Nivedita University will go a long way towards enriching the game in the state, “ Mr. Mukherjee said. “Let us all usher in a great Season 2021 in the right earnest and keep the spirit of football going thereafter,” he added. Echoing his views, Mr. Roychowdhury said, “I am sure the synergy between us and the IFA would take Bengal football to a higher pedestal in the future. We have committed ourselves to the shared cause of contributing meaningfully to the game in West Bengal and there couldn’t have been a better partner in this endeavor than a heritage organisation like the Indian Football Association.”
