Kaushik Ghosh’s Book “Man of the Match: Life of a Common Man” Launched at Oxford Book Store
Two days before Mahalaya, KaushikGhosh launched his book about his life story: “Man of the Match: Life of a Common Man” at the Oxford Bookstore amidst a host of dignitaries such as Ex India Cricketer and Sports & Youth Minister of West Bengal Government, Mr Manoj Tewari, Eminent Artist Suvaprasanna Bhattacharya among many others.
The book encapsulates Kaushik’s growing up life from Class 06 till his first job–it deals with his struggles, his trials, hopes and hard work. Kaushik Ghosh, the author, is master of many talents−He is the COO of Globe All India Services Ltd.,is also a consummate Traveller, Coach, Author, Radio Presenter and Columnist!

The session was moderated by Rajlakshmi Syam, an Eminent Pianist, Fashion Designer, a Business Consultant and the State President of the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce.
Actress Payel Sarkar and Subhasish Chakraborty (the Chairman and Managing Director at DTDC Courier and Cargo Ltd.)sent across video recordings of their reviews of the book wishing the author well.
Rajlakshmi introduced all the Guests of Honour and then the Book Launch commenced! The Book Launch inaugurated the Bengali version of “Man of the Match” and an English version will be following soon.
Kaushik Ghosh talked about his journey towards writing the book and MLA Manoj Tewari mentioned how the book was so very relatable! They conversed about how their lives with the various twists and turns which were very similar, and yet different, and how every individual life is unique and has a different story to share!
Kaushik Ghosh talked abouthis evolution: “Being an author was achildhood dream of mine! It fascinated me! In the fight of life, along the way, I have been writing this book for 13 years; and if it could inspire even one person or one family, I believe my work would be done!”
Rajlakshmi Syam, the moderator of the event, thoroughly enjoyed reading the book: “Kaushik’s Man of the Match speaks about the reality and struggles and how he came out ahead successfully. Life is not a bed of roses but with our constant endeavour and hope, it gets easier; it’s like Charles Darwin had said, “Survival of the Fittest”. As he said in his book, his unstoppable struggle and ability to grapple with hurdles eventually helped him grow!”
One of the major take aways has been that now with the fast changing world and especially after the pandemic, time has come when people need to become jack-of-all-trades and master of none. It is time now time when people need to be multi-skilled and keep on upgrading themselves while they maintain their uniqueness. Kaushik’s life story will encourage the youth in understanding the current situation and plan for their future.
Kaushik in his speech insisted that the current youth is doing extraordinarily well overcoming all the newer challenges they are facing. While everything is now in their hand over a button, one thing they should not forget is “simplicity”
