“Saksham 2020”, Oil and Gas Conservation Awareness Programme concludes sucessfully
News Correspondent, abptakmaa, Kolkata, 18th Feb 2020 : Like every year, the Oil Industry under the guidance of Ministry of Petroleum & natural Gas is observing SAKSHAM-2020 (Sanrakshan Kshamata Mahotsav ) from 16th January’2020 to 15th February, 2020 in the entire country. Like last year , this year it will be organized for one month.The tagline of SAKSHAM-2020 is “ Indhan Adhik Na Khapaein Aao Paryavaran Bachaein”.
The Saksham -2020 i,e Oil and Gas Conservation awareness programme was formally culminated at G.D.Birla Sabhaghar, Ashutosh Choudhury Road, Kolkata in presence of Shri Atish Chandra Ghosh, Chief General Manager , IOCL cum Regional Level Co ordinator , Sri Anirban Ghosh Chief General Manager, Indian Oil on behalf of State Level Coordinator ,West Bengal senior officials from HPCL,BPCL and GAIL and Indian Oil and dealers of Oil Companies.
About 250 audiences specially school children, teachers, Oil Industry dealers, LPG Distributors and officials from Oil Industry attended the program.
Sri Asim Kumar Bera, Zonal Chief General Manager, GAIL, welcome all the audience in the programme on behalf of SLC West Bengal.
Shri Atish Chandra Ghosh, RLC ER, Oil Industry, address the audience. Then he talked about present oil scenario in India and talked about various initiatives being taken up by Govt. of India towards reduction of environment pollution. He requested everybody to come forward to spread the message of Oil & Gas Conservation and implement various conservation tips in our day to day life for efficient utilization of the valuable petroleum products. He also urged the students who are the future citizen of Indian to take more initiative for spreading the message of Oil & Gas conservation.
Shri Anirban Ghosh, Chief General Manager (Retail Sales) on behalf of SLC, West Bengal addresses the gathering. He also highlighted various key activities conducted during the month long programme in West Bengal and thanks all the Oil Industry members for organizing such activities in spreading the message of conservation in the State.
As short film comprising of message of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and various activities conducted in West Bengal during this month long programme was shown to the audience. This was appreciated by everybody.

- Bi Cycle Rally at Kolkata on 19.01.2020 and all district HQ as a bi cycle Day
- Walkathon at various locations on 02.02.2020
- Debate /Quiz competition at various schools
- Mega painting competition at Geetanjali Stadium
- LPG conservation awareness programme for Girls’ students
- Conservation workshop in Transport sector
- Conservation clinics in Agriculture sector
