Fake Sonata watches seized from Diamond Harbour, one arrested

Ambarnath Bhattacharya, abptakmaa, Kolkata, 6th July 2019 : The Bishnupur Police Station under the supervision of Sub Inspector Sirsendu Banerjee with a team from enforcement branch of intellectual property rights carried out a raid at a watch company and seized about 220 fake Sonata wrist watches(22 boxes with 10 fake watches). Cops raided a shop West Bengal Watch Company at Diamond Harbour in South 24 parganas and arrested Ashok Kumar Ghosh (60) against the complain of Subhasish Dey (FIR No 443/2019 dt 3.7.2019). Mr. S. Selvamurugan (SP Diamond Harbour) arranged the raid to get the duplicate watches of Sonata, Ashok Kumar Ghosh was given charge under the sections 63 & 65 of copyright Act, 1957 and 420 under IPC. People were cheated while selling these fake Sonata watches.
